Ok
My new Macbook Pro just arrived and I only have a copy of my iBook on a firewire drive (dead logic board unit that had to ship to apple before I could receive this one) My hope was that the new unit would see the firewire drive as a mac in target mode, but this those not seam to be the case.

So the question is. Can a manualy copy over emails and the address book from this firewire drive.

Regards

Sean

You should still be able to use Migration Assistant in the Utilities folder when the Firewire drive is connected. Target Disk Mode is used to make another Mac act like an external hard drive in a Firewire case, so you don't need it because you already have the drive in a case. Nevertheless, you can manually copy across your emails etc. All you really need to do is copy the Mail folder from the Library on your external drive's Home folder to the Library on your MacBook Pro's equivalent location. :)
