Hi,

so everyone is complaining about the new Macbook Pro. But what do you guys think about external GPUs on the new model with Thunderboldt 3? Any ideas about good options? Can I expect plug and play or is there still a lot of fiddling around involved?

Why would you buy a MBP and an eGPU? That's the most expensive setup for anything.

Expensive, yes. But if you want a small portable laptop that packs a bit of punch on the road, then need more graphics performance when you set it down on a desk, it's actually cheaper than buying a separate laptop and desktop powerhouse.

I'd love this. Or least hear that macOS will support it properly. Makes the anemic GPU choices in the MacBooks somewhat ok. Need to do serious work or some gaming ? Plug in at desk. Need to get away from desk, use macbook as is.
