so I got my MacBook pro

I have to admit the screen is perfect literally no backlight bleed and uniform so I was really happy

but what I noticed is two light scuff marks just below the speaker......

you can notice them in certain lights is this part of the manufacturing or summit

It seems to be a relatively common cosmetic defect. It will not affect anything else obviously, but a scuff out of the box on an expensive machine would annoy the hell out of me. Knowing myself, I would spend the day staring at it, and would end up asking for a replacement.

You are fully entitled to ask for a swap, but might have to wait a little if you made a custom order and want the exact same specs on the replacement. Unless you're lucky and they just happen to have an identical unit in the store.

I’d be more worried about Apple trying to use that cosmetic defect as a reason to deny warranty claims, or force usage of an AppleCare+ incident if I had an issue down the road.
