C'mon krye, this is macrumors.com, if you want facts go to apple.com

Besides, this is a Page 2 rumor, do you know what that means?

Does anyone know about stock levels in the UK? I am awaiting a replacement macbook pro and I've read stacks about the possible new models. My reseller said that stock levels were out, but the Apple store say they have loads who should I believe????

I wonder if Apple are going to work a BR drive into the new MBPs? A redesign with magnetic latch and MBA keyboard with a BR drive would be pretty sweet.

Panasonic has to make a slot loading 9.5mm blue-ray drive first. They do have a 9.5mm drive, but it is tray loading. There is also a 12.5mm slot loading drive.

You guys kill me with this "unconfirmed report" crap. If it's unconfirmed, then don't report it. We want facts, not baseless speculation and fantasy dreaming. This constant rumor mongering hurts the entire Apple community and flushes your credibility down the toilet. Can we believe anything you say anymore? You know eventually new MacBook Pros will ship, right? Maybe not this Tuesday, but one Tuesday they will. So stop GUESSING and report the facts, not some stupid glitch or place holder in Best Buy’s system.

Mac Rumors... Rumors, get it? Rumors.

Dear Mr. Jobs,

While I realize you don't have time to hear from the likes of me, I would like to say, WHAT THE @%#!$ IS THE HOLD UP OVER THERE???

Collectively we've rumored, we've laughed, we've speculated, we've mocked-up, we've fought and we've waited!

While we realize that you've provided us with a kick ass OS and some additionally kick ass hardware to run it on. And we know all that takes a lot of effort, more so because you've given us equally kick ass products such as our ever color changing iPods and awesome iPhones. But why, why do you make us wait so long?

Of course we know you won't give us little bits of information, for fear that once the buying consumer hears new products are on the way, your current stock would suddenly sit and gather dust. But come on, you can tell us. We promise not to tell anyone else, we swear we won't!

Please... please please please give us something new and soon!

You guys are hilarious.

Apple will introduce a new Macbook Pro when they're ready to.

If you want a new model, wait.

If you need a Macbook Pro, buy one now.

I was at my local apple reseller yesterday and the MacBookPro's stil seem to be attracting alot of interest...most of these people were PC user, so didn't really have a clue that the computer they are looking has been on the market for nearly 10months!!...having said that, have any of you guys looked the currently range of PC laptops

I ended up putting a order in for the Air...just got to love that TrackPad :D

Rather funny, the reason I'm here is because of Apple. I went to the store today and as usual was ambushed at the door as-if I was an old lady crossing the street. Also as expected I said, "No thank you." to the girl and then walked over to the guy and asked for his help.

I asked to see the Macbook Pro because recently my Powerbook died and didn't want to pay the repair costs. He agreed, he showed me the Macbook Pro. I asked him a few standard questions about software, the camera, keyboard, and so forth. Surprisingly he then looked around and said, "I would wait though." I asked, "Why?" He replied saying there was rumors and plans to release an updated Macbook Pro in the future. He basically told me NOT to buy a Macbook Pro at this time.

I think when Apple literally tells an unknowing customer willing to drop $2700 dollars that very day NOT to purchase this laptop is a tell-tale sign.

Just to be clear, you shouldn't read anything into that.

Apple Store employees know as much, not anything more, than we do about new products.

He was telling you to wait most likely because he knows and reads the same things we read here; he knows that it's very likely an MBP update (a minor one, but an update nonetheless) is coming pretty soon, and was recommending that you wait.

This was based on the same rumors and info you'll find here though; it wasn't based on secret knowledge that Apple shares with Apple Store employees.

He probably secretly surfs these forums at the dead of night and gets his ideas from here

Actually, a friend of mine went to the NY 5th Avenue Apple store in October to buy a MBP and was told the exact same thing. I think after 4 months of waiting we can consider that the guy at the store was quite wrong...

My new prediction: No new MacBook Pros until June/July. Apple is probably waiting for Montevina platform.

I'm also rather disturbed by that posters other comment-they seem to be saying they avoided the first person who tried to help them because they were a woman?

We could only wish. The chassis is certainly getting a bit long in the tooth..

I just hope the new one has a user replaceable drive. This current design dates back to whenever they replaced the Titanium model...2003 maybe?

why not talk to the girl? in my experience girls in sales are as competent as the guys working there, except when they don't know something they tend to ask someone who does whereas guys seem to keep talking rather than admitting they don't know.
huge plus for the girls: they are usually more pleasant to look at ;)
