WHy, on these new MacBook Pros, do the fans go "belistic" ?

They may be silent, but you reset the PRAM.

I guess this is normal, but why ?

This never used to be the case on previous MBP's... or did it ?

ALso, just wondering. is Apple's AHT available for these new Mac's and/or is TechTools Deluxe still available for download?
 
The word you're looking for is "ballistic."

Apple portables' fans have always spun up during time of intensive usage. Whatever you're doing must trigger an increase in CPU temperature and therefore the fans kick in.

but all i was doing was a PRAM reset .... how can the mac be under heavy load of anything ?
