I just got a new black and silver macbook, but my harddrive doesnt work properly with it.

I am using a IOMega Ultra Max hard drive and it works fine connected by USB on my imac and old macbook.

However, with my new Macbook, i can start browsing in the root directory then all the folders appear empty, take ages to load, and then Finder often crashes???? what the hell is going on.

I have tried taking out any other usb devices, reseting permissions and verifying disk (had to do on iMac) but still my new macbook wont work properly. Whenever i try to copy over files or mount disks, it fails?

the disk is formatted as OS extended journaled.

    Please help!

have you run a diagnostic on the drive?
try that, and see what it says
