Yea Im sure that there are probably posts like this all the time, but I'm too excited. I just picked up a brand new Macbook with the 2.4GHz processor! It took me forever in the store to decide between the Macbook and Macbook Pro, but I ultimately went with the MB for the size and weight.

Anyways, I was afraid to open it and find it with slanted keys and dust behind the screen, but my keys are straight, no dust can be seen behind the glass, and the battery cover doesnt seem to be loose.

This is my first mac so any advice would be much appreciated!

Congrats! Well, here is a tip(s):

1. Download iStat to check your fans and CPU temperatures.
2. Check "Software Update" to see everything is updated
3. Create your first Time Machine back up.

i also use insomniax to keep the computer running with the lid closed, i dont use it much but it is perfect for long operations like running the first time machine backup.

i use:
cyberduck for ftp
transmission for torrents
Microsoft RDC to connect to my HP tower

might want to give mobileme a try, especially if you use an iPhone to keep all of your mail, contacts and iCal in sync.
