We're testing out a new feature where your attachments are actually organized and re-useable to some degree. The main usage I was expecting to start was really just as a discovery view, especially around product launches, as images are shared.

New Media: https://forums.macrumors.com/whats-new/media/

This shows all the new image attachments posted to different threads on MacRumors.

You can also view your own uploads in your profile tab:

There are actually some really interesting old finds: https://forums.macrumors.com/media/1-jpg.193300/
From the media page, you can copy BBCode to embed it in other posts if you like:

There is also a not well linked view here: https://forums.macrumors.com/media/
That shows what categories we have mapped to.

Some interesting ones:

- Note that we are still resyncing everything so there may be gaps in the media history.
- The media feature is meant to be more robust, so there are features for comments / ratings / tags that we are not using at present. Right now we are using it as an attachment browser, essentially.
- Not all forums are included at the moment. Specifically Site Feedback is not included. Also I just realized that our archives are not either. That may change.

Let me know if there are any issues or suggestions

Just used this feature to look back at my previous posts over the years that I forgot about, very neat feature.

This will become very handy. In the past it hasn't been so easy to search for posts with an image so this will greatly speed up that process.

Is this done with the XF media add-on? If so, are they automatically pulled out of posts and displayed in these links? Or does the user need to add them to the media pages manually?

Yep normal attachments are synced to the media tab. If you delete an attachment it is also deleted from media.
