Hi,
I have new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar connected to LG 4K display. When the computer is connected to the display I use Apple Magic Keyboard with numeric pad and Magic Trackpad which I bought 1 week ago. I've noticed that some times the trackpad is disconnecting and reconnecting without a reason. when the trackpad is disconnected it nor response (no clicks). the batteries are fully charged. any suggestions?

Thanks!

No issues with the keyboard? Have you tried to remove the trackpad from your list of Bluetooth devices and then re-add it?

If you aren’t having issues with the keyboard (or any other Bluetooth devices) and the remove/re-add doesn’t fix it then I would exchange the track pad.

I use the MTP2 with my MP, and (mostly) keep it plugged in.

I was having a string of times this past Summer where it would disconnect (become unresponsive) until I power-cycled it, manually. This happened even when it was cabled.

Always attributed it to my cat laying on the desk near it (signal interference).

No reason/rhyme.

The keyboard works fine. I gave it to the store so they will check. Thanks!

I have a solution. you have to push down to magic pad(force touch) when it freezed bluetooth down. it'll be done, right now!
