Now that we have this new "FaceTime Camera," I'm curious to know how the resolution compares to the previous iSight camera. Is it still .3 megapixels or do we finally have a 1.3 megapixel camera like all the other Macs?? Can someone open PhotoBooth, take a picture of and do a "Get info" please?

it is not clear as my iMac, i checked out on the Apple Store.

why would apple put a cheap camera in a $999 and up machine???

.3 MP?? Aww man. Does anyone mind posting up a pic (any pic) from the facetime camera so we can compare it to the isights we're using now?

A loaded Macbook Air is north of $1600 and to come with a cheap low end camera is pretty shabby of Apple:(

Because they want to keep the screen casing extremely thin. I'm pretty sure the MBP's still have 640x480 cameras as well, and they can be quite a bit more expensive...

No backlit keyboard.. 5 hrs of battery life.. no ambient light sensor.. those don't matter to me. But this? This broke it for me. I'll just wait for the next generation MBAs. Hopefully they'll come with a better webcam. :)

Wow, thanks for this info. I was hoping the resolution improved from my RevC Air, but apparently not. :(

It was at least decent of Apple to call it something different. I'm not surprised that they didn't advertise the fact. I'm a little bummed as I use iChat quite a bit with my other systems.

Yeah Apple made a point in one of the pages that the FaceTime camera was even thinner than the one in the iPhone 4.

if you knew how cameras work, you would realize how difficult it is to stick one in as tiny of a space as they do with the new MB air

that screen casing is ridiculously thin
