Just got the new 2020 MBA M1. Coming from a 2018 MBA running Mojave. I have 2 x LG 27" external monitors connected via USB-C. One monitor per USB-C port on the MBA.

I had no issues with my 2018 MBA. With this new MBA running Big Sur the MBA will only detect one of the external monitors. I have tried switching the ports and cables and it doesn't matter. Anyone else had this issue?

The M1 MBA supports only one external monitor.
Yep. Perhaps you missed that bit.

D’oh (Homer Simpson voice). Definitely missed that. Any idea is this is permanent or will be fixed with a future update?
if it's a hardware limitation, seems unlikely. but who knows? with apple, it will happen if it can... when they get to it.
