I would like to ask if anyone with the new MBP Space Grey think that the color might have a chipping issue just like the previous space grey? Or does it come with a different body coating this time? I saw a YouTube video few weeks ago mentioning about different touch feel on the new MBP, suggesting it really comes with a special coating. Is this true?

New MBP 14 & 16 Space Grey Color Chipping?

Some users reported the coating of their space grey Macbooks tend to peel off after a few months/years of normal usage, thus showing the paint chipping effect.
Never heard of chipping. Fading on the previous gen, yes. Not sure the durability of the new MBPs - yet.
The palm rests faded on my 2019 16" as you can see from this overhead photo I snapped:
I don't know if it was a one-off or if this is something that would happen again with my skin. I like both space grey & silver. You can't go wrong with silver if you're leery about space grey on the new models. Silver is brighter obviously. If you're looking for something stealthier then you'll need to get space grey.

I've never experienced any issue with space grey. I've had 5 of them since 2017. Never a single issue. Never read about any issues either. You should question the accuracy of the source of that rumor.
