New MBP and External displays

I thought I read something about the New Macbook Pros can handle external monitors better then the MBP with ATI x1600. Something about having dedicated Video RAM to the external monitor. True?
 
Does It Support Rotation?

Anybody hook it up to an external and see rotation options on the external like we do with ATI cards?
