new mbp game performance

windows drivers don't work so I installed the doom 3 demo in osx to try out game performance.

I was playing on high at 1280x1024 with a bit of stuttering. I don't know how to get framerates off games in osx. It was a relatively playable, but I didn't play long enough to get into a fight scene, just the initial walking around the base. I don't know what's normal for that game or how the other mbp's line up to this.

Its a laptop dude. If you are wanting high fps build a desktop. 🙄

I wasn't complaining about the performance. Anything is an improvement over my previous one. I was just trying to size up this thing's performance =\

According to this site, the performance is nearly double that of the X1600. I have heard that even these results are conservative and better things can be acheived with improved drivers.

Bogus. A Geforce 8600GT should run something like Doom 3 at (now) medium resolutions like that really well. I don't know if it's OS X that's to blame?
