Hey all, bought a new MBP 15" today and a momentus XT today. Before even turning the new computer on, I swapped out the hard drive, put in the OSX disc and booted up attempting to install the OS on the new drive.

However, the computer wont recognize the new drive at all. Ive installed this HD in all my other MBPs without a hitch in the past, wondering if something changed on the 2011 MBP?

Anyone with any ideas why the MBP wont recognize the drive? Maybee I should've started it up first with the stock drive?

Thanks for any tips!!

Update: Went to Disk utility, erased/formatted it and now all is good :)

That would have been my first suggestion. Glad that's all it was.

Btw: Which firmware version are your XTs running (SD25 being the latest)?
