New MBP owner; question about Iris graphics

Hi all! i just got a late 2013 13" MBP. I was looking at the system info, and it shows 1024mb for Intel Iris Graphics. What I was wondering is, is that taken from the main RAM or does the Iris graphics have its own 1GB of ram? Thanks!

Integrated GPUs uses system ram and not vram.

ah ok! Glad I got 16gb of ram put into that bad boy!
1gb is pretty nice though, coming from 64mb integrated in my old Macbook
