No Blu-ray standard.
No only glossy. Matte will remain an option.

Why are you rude and mean with everyone?

This is one of the most unpleasant forums on the site, there are a group of regulars here that constantly seek out people to belittle with their superior nerdic powers. They specifically look for threads on subjects similar to those of other threads they have read so they can whine about the search function over and over.

well 1 on the right does not look like dvi ? one on the very left .... SD/XD/MS slot

why have hdmi right at the bottom there you'd think they would simply replace the dvi slot - there is hdmi - dvi converters

The port with the tape over it really does look like an HDMI input. And why else would there be tape over it? Everything else is out in the open in the pictures...why is that one port blocked? That being said, does that lock in Blu-ray? Or no?

Right. And then there's those who love to talk about how they hate Apple's choices in the MBP and how their wishes are clearly the ones that should be considered in the new MacBook Pros in terms of form factor and graphics power... and post about it in dozens of threads, and make a dozen or so of them themselves.

Hey, that'd kinda be like you now, wouldn't it?

Just an observation, but in the MacBook picture, there appears to be some type of screws near the "mystery" port.

How is it not really? I thought someone proved they put in 8 GBs and both the Mac and Activity monitor acknowledged it?

ya, there's really no reason the mbp couldn't support it. Maybe the os has trouble with it? Although there's lots of people running 16/32gb on their mac pro's so I can't imagine that it would.

Per montevina era core 2 duos, the speed options are:

2.23 GHZ, 25 watt (P8400)
2.4 GHZ, 25 watt (P8600)
2.5 GHZ, 25 watt (P9500)
2.5 GHZ, 35 watt (T9400)
2.8 GHZ, 35 watt (T9600)

Tallest skil is generally the only level headed one out of all the speculators. He's just trying to knock some common sense into the speculators who have outrageous claims on parts that make no sense in a mac laptop (like a huge video card like an 8800 or 9800).

It is rather annoying seeing the same thread over and over, even with the same title!

or stuff reposted from a long time ago...

This stuff just drives good threads down the list because people are too lazy to search so they just post something as soon as they find it or feel like it.

Quelling ignorance in technology by making someone not want to speak up anymore may be a little mean, but it's better than it spreading like wildfire because a lot of people believe what they read on forums. IE when people thought that Hybrid SLI meant two video cards in a laptop like SLI works on a desktop.

Steve, just give me

Internal 3G Antenna
Blu-Ray
Matte Screen
Silver Keys

And you have my money pronto

While your at it, crank out a 10" Air too

C'mon Steve Think Different

Is it 2009 yet?

anyone think we'll be able to run 2 external monitors off the new mbp's like you can on the old one (with the help of that one device)? ... i forget what its called. hopefully someone knows what im talking about

8GB will be supported...because if 6GB was the max then it wouldn't run in dual channel which is less efficient. (1x2GB + 1x4GB) Plus 8GB sounds so much cooler!

8GB DDR3 1066 Max (2x4GB)
320GB 7200RPM Hard Drive or 500GB 5400RPM Hard Drive

Just a Few Q's:
~Why is there still a plastic MB?
~Why Is there no new 17" MPB and in fact it is the "updated" old one?
~Why visually (to the untrained eye) is there no difference in between the MB and MBP?
