legreve macrumors regular Apr 4, 2011 #3 Yep, main bay supports Sata 3, and opti bay sata 2... which naturally means you wont be raiding sata 3 with fx 2 vertex 3 drives. But a sata 3 in main bay and you'll be rocking. 🙂

johnnyturbouk macrumors 68000 Apr 4, 2011 #5 yes my ssd link speed is sata 3 6GB/s but negotiated speed is 3GB/s i think the SMS is not inbuilt and does not apply in the optibay for the stock hdd i have the CTO 500GB 7200 and it has not had any issues so far
