New MBP

    hey guys,
    my new mpb just arrived this afternoon. first mac ever:D:D:D
    just wanted to know if there is anything essential i need to do and also any really cool programs i should get. base model mbp with 2 gigs of ram

    Azureus for torrents (if you're into that)

    aMSN (or adium if you're not a heavy MSN user)

    I saw a recent thread on it, you can search for full details.

    The bulk of it is simply charging the battery, and then letting it run until off, then charging it until max or something like that.

    iStat is another good one (available as a widget and a menubar); it monitors various system statuses (temp, fam speed, HDD space, etc).
