That's interesting. The base says it's a pre-order, but the loaded says it's temporarily out of stock.
Perhaps a lucky few got to order it before it sold out?

wish they have one with the HR antiglare screen. that's the one that i think i'd want w/ 8GB of ram.

still deciding between retina vs. non retina..

yeah.. but not everyone's a student though.. I can't get a student discount to save my life.. heh.

I'm purchasing non-retina (fat) MBP.

I'll agree with that, and you can sell the MAS gift card for roughly $75 to offset some of the tax (which I lived in Oregon).

I am kinda in the same boat as you (regarding purchases).

I am getting the retina and the non retina MBP. If the RMBP screen is that much better, i'm keeping it. otherwise, I'm returning the RMBP (non retina MBP is better for future RAM/SSD upgrade).

Wish I still lived in a state w/ no sales tax :p

I just ordered the 15" Retina MBP w/512 SSD and chose the overnight shipping (prime $3.99) from Amazon. Waiting to see what they say on delivery and will decide if I want to cancel and go direct to Apple. I was hesitating on if I want to jump up to 16gb of ram so I may still cancel but it will be interesting to see what the delivery estimate will be.

So were you able to get one before it said out of stock? I have prime, but it says "not available" and "temp out of stock"

No mine just had the "Temporarily out of stock" message and they would e-mail me an estimated ship date. Nothing on it yet but will wait and see. I still might cave and get the 16gb version from Apple. Just not sure if I really need 16gb.

Can't upgrade RMBP to 16 gig memory through Amazon.

What you see is what you get. Would've been nice to avoid the taxes. :(

Looks like you can now put the base model Retina MBP into your cart and check out (and even get a 4-year square deal warranty) - and they ship when they get stock in.

I'm hoping to order a retina MacBook Pro by Friday, but it's still too early to figure out what place will have it by then or which place will ship quickest.
I have Amazon Prime, so I wish they would say when they'll have it around.
