New MBPs - target disk mode

Anyone know if it will be possible to use target disk mode (to use migration assistant for example) to move data from the previous MBP to the new ones, presumable with the Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter?

I know from Apple's support docs. that the new machines support TDM over USB-C, so I'm thinking what you described will work. That is my plan also. I got the TB adaptor and already have a TB cable from a previous migration, so we'll see. Sadly my MacBook still has not shipped though. 🙁
