Hello all,

Just got my computer (Macintosh Dual G4) upgraded to OS X (I know...where have I been?!!), was using OS 9 before because the music software I use was only compatible with that. Anyway... Had a new drive put in (The old Deathstar died on me), and went online for the first time. Everything was going swimmingly, iTunes worked a dream... I was a happy man. Then I installed my Pro Tools music software, downloaded some media players, and WHAM! iTunes now refuses to open. I click it on the bar below, the little triangle highlights it, but the program won't appear on the screen, so I have to force quit it. If I bully it a bit it tells me that I have an unknown error - 1712.

Does any kindly soul know how to help out a complete ignoramus by perhaps telling me what I have done? Thanks,

Matt

Any errors show up in the console (Applications/Utilities/Console)?

No clue but you could always try repairing permissions. Should do it after any software install.

Run Disk Utility to do it.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool first step in troubleshooting single apps or processes. :D

It's gotta be better than 'Repair Permissions' which does sqwat! :)
