I was wondering if any Mac users here have tried the brand new ergonomic keyboard by Microsoft. I do a lot of typing in Word throughout my day and currently use the Surface Ergonomic keyboard with my 2017 MBP (which also runs Windows 10 through Parallels) but it's starting to wear down on me. This new keyboard has gotten pretty good reviews from what I've read and since it's WIRED I'd assume it would work.... but I'd like to know before shelling out the money only to find out that it doesn't work. Supposedly the surface keyboard was not supposed to be compatible with Macs and it works fine, so let me know if you come across this post and have tried it let me know? Thanks!

Someone finally reviewed it on Amazon and said that if you plug it in Mac OS doesn't really recognize it, you can still use it for basic typing but modification/swap keys doesn't work. I commented on the review and asked him if the media keys at least work and if running Windows via Parallels would make any difference with it, within the Windows apps. We shall see if they respond.

Honestly, it's better to go with the Logitech ergonomic keyboard (Logitech Ergo K860) I just switched to it from the Microsoft Ergonomic and it's way better. the keys are smaller and tighter, it's wireless (the Microsoft is not) and you can use either the USB unifying device or program up to 3 devices via bluetooth. I'm loving it so much more than the Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard.

oh and the Logitech recognizes Macs.

I've been using "no-name" peripherals or other brands on all my macs. They work pretty much out of the box, just need to keep notice that some keys will function differently on the mac such as the windows key being automatically swapped as "Command".

MacOS has pretty good compatibility on any peripheral.

I wanted the Logitech but the Microsoft Ergonomic is the only ergonomic keyboard in India. ☹️

Yeah I've used some "no-name" peripherals before as well, but they just never really seemed to fully work for me (especially mice). After having used this new Logitech keyboard for a while now though, I'm frigging in love with it. Just for the feel of the keys when you touch down on them and the soft click they make... it's heaven to my fingers and ears!

That's a bummer :( Hopefully they will soon make it available for you. Maybe they're holding back during this whole COVID-19 pandemic?

I emailed them, but it looked like a bot which replied. I saw an Australian asking on their forums too, but they don't even have a rough release date as of now.
