Perhaps, but in the end it doesn't matter. They will still compete, and the option of being able to buy a fantastic tablet that docks securely to a real laptop keyboard base, and adds a dedicated GPU has got to be appealing to many of the same creative professionals the iPad Pro is targeting.I'm not sure I really think they are relevant to each other, the surface book is a laptop and more comparable to the macbook pro than the iPad Pro. Now if you can argue the surface pro 4 against the iPad Pro, they are closer.
Or even MacBook Pro 15" @$2300 (or higher) and the rest... Apple needs to hurry to this new product category of the future. So what's the more smarter decision to buy?
Macbook pro ($1299) + iPad Pro ($799) + pencil ($99) + ipad keyboard ($169) = $2366
or the Surface Book for $1499
