New MMS update work with 3.0.1 jailbreak?

I have been using a hack version of the mms and I'm a bit worried that I might get charged for it. So I was wondering if there was a way to do an update on the new carrier without losing the jailbreak and tethering abilities? Any help would be great.

Really? I don't want to sacrifice my tethering. It has saved me so many times! There is no other way to work around this?
