Hi

I have had an iPhone since the first one went on sale and I am sure that come Friday 19th I will be outside my local Apple store waiting to buy the 3GS.

Anyway at Christmas I was given a MacBook and now I use my phone for everything. All my friends telephone numbers, address, birthdays are on both my address book on my mac and on my iPhone. Also I use ical for everything.

However other than the odd podcast I that I down load each week I don't sync my iPhone often enough. So what I have started is double book myself.

So this morning I signed up for the 60 day free trial of mobile me.

However I am having a few issues:

1) iCal works in that it auto syncs between iCal on my MacBook and my iPhone & the other way round. However if I go to the me website and sign in the calender was showing in pacific time and as I am in London its not much help. So I changed the time zone to GMT/UTC 0 however it did not take into account day light saving time. So I selected UTC+1 for western europe and guess what it does take into account DST but for mainland europe. So I can either have the calender on the me website showing one hour behind or one hour ahead of UK summer time. Any idea of what I have done wrong or how to fix this?

2) I don't understand how the email sync works. My regular email account is with gmail. As I have signed up to to me, I now also have a @me address. I have set this up with my iPhone and tried a few tests. I sent an email to my new @me address and it arrives on my iPhone and show when I sign into the me website. If I open the email on my iPhone it does not auto sync to show on the me website that the email has been opened. Also if I delete the email from the me site it does not delete on the iPhone. Should they not both auto sync with each other? Or is the issue something to do with the fact that the mail box on my mac is still linked to my gmail account? Last question re mail, is there a way I can still use my gmail account and have it sync via me or can @me move email from my gmail account to the new @me address?

3) If I just feel that @me is not worth the money that I just don't need it is there a way that I can cancel without loosing all my contracts and ical appointments from my iPhone and MacBook?

4) If I get a iPhone 3GS next week, will it just be a case of syncing my new phone with iTunes and then mobile me will work as normal?

I am sorry if these questions sound daft, but I am really not an IT expert and could do with some help.

Alex
