What makes you think that any of the moderators' moms let them out of the house? That's why they are online so much.That made me laugh. Me, a mod? My mom just started letting me stay home alone without a babysitter.
It's by invitation only. Since the "staff" spends so much collective time in the forums, it's not hard for them to identify those who meet the qualifications, including a strong interest in the site, in helping others, an understanding of the rules and their purposes, a good ol' dose of common sense and friendliness, and a lightning bolt birthmark on their forehead. I would like to mention that we have many members who don't happen to be moderators but who are friendly and helpful and a great benefit to the site. They deserve our gratitude too.
For those wondering what a "Mitthrawnuruodo" is, see this explanation. As for what a WildCowboy is, I think it's some kind of ferocious human-beast mutant.I demand only moderators whose names I can pronounce!
Sorry for the late check in...arn wasn't happy with the first shoeshine I gave him, Doctor Q's pasta was too al dente, and jsw didn't specify until too late that I had to use Turtle-brand wax on his car. I've been a bit busy.

To the admins, can I become a mod too? There are several people I want to ban.
Meeting arn in person really clenched your chances at getting the mod nod, eh? Considering you and ~Shard~ are the top prolific post reporters, it seems natural you made yourself a target with the admins.

I'm always sadly amused when that happens, but that wasn't the case here, I believe. Did I miss something?

Don't worry, the average moderator can only keep it up so long before they go soft, roll over and finally go to sleep for the night.
