...and with a loud bang, my 2005 era 24" 16:10 premier colour Dell display finally gave up, and I'm back to a single 24" display (the 2010 version of the same), like an animal. The 2010 monitor, not so sure about it - it's LED backlit, as opposed to CCFL, has better colour, but it also suffers from image retention, which the 2005 never exhibited.

So, on to replacements. I had been entertaining ideas of getting a 27" and putting both my 24s in portrait orientation next to it to handle palettes etc.

I know a few folks here have experience with the Dell U2718, 27" 4k, but do any of you know anyone using the HDR version - UP2718Q? It's significantly more expensive, BUT, it's also the difference between 99% sRGB, and 100% AdobeRGB, which my camera uses, and it's primarily a photography monitor.

(prad.de is the best but there new reviews are only in German so you need to use google translate)

AdobeRGB matter's more if you print, if your doing only web work sRGB is better and i have no idea how HDR works with photography and calibration workflows of stills o_O maybe it helps? or not?

it's fine art print photography, but the question I can't find an answer to is whether the HDR stuff - regional backlighting etc, operats when you're not in one of the specific HDR modes, as is is that part of the process that provides the full ARGB gamut.

I'm looking at Benq displays as well now.

What I mean is whether the technologies that make the display HDR are also a part of its ability to render the full aRGB gamut, or if they’re pointless if you’re only doing aRGB stuff.
