So why can’t Microsoft have xcloud in the App Store again?
Because they don't need to with web apps it's as good as having a native app assuming you have a network connection. Either way native or web, for games from GFN, Stadia or XCloud you need an active network connection.

These games are native iOS games (one even seems to be an old one no longer available as a stand alone download in the App Store anymore), and it makes way more sense to develop native games for iOS and Android instead of developing a gaming engine + games that run on it.
There’s another company doing something similar, grabbing old mobile games, bundling them in a subscription and you get access by logging in when you run the app.

Lol this isn’t going to work.
Au contrare, it's a brilliant solution. Games with full iOS functionality, but completely sidestepping the Apple Tax. And since Apple are already under massive anti-competitive pressure and scrutiny, they won't dare to do a thing about it. Now watch as everybody else jumps on this same model. Checkmate.

How would that work exactly? The Netflix app had to include a gaming engine?

I mean if they had done it like they did on Android, i.e. breaking Apple's rules.

Why not? It's just another value add to the existing plans. I'm sure they will use it to justify raising plan fees, just like Amazon Prime, but for now it's simply included at no additional cost.
Exactly, for now. $13.99 is already more than Netflix is worth.

Not the best user experience to release as separate apps. But still, nice that no extra payments are required. Also looks like there are only very few games. Should expand significantly.

They did do it like on Android. Games download from Google Play Store on Android.
I find it interesting that anyone thought they were going to be streaming games in the app. I guess with all the “streaming” news out there, people assume anyone coming up with a games service is doing it to stream.

Netflix knows, just like Apple, that there’s a TON of money to be made in mobile games ON the device, so they’re going for it.

So another sub to crappy games I'll never play, similar to Apple's offering. Yeah, no thanks.

What are the games like? Are there more in depth games like we see on consoles and PC, or are they just more mobile style games?

I do have the latest version of the Netflix app.*facepalm*
If you have the latest version of the Netflix app, they’re listed there, just scroll down a bit. OR you could search for “Games” in the Netflix app and find links to the App Store.

If you can’t find them in the app, then you can also search the App Store for “Netflix” :) As of now, after doing that search you should see the “Netflix” app PLUS their speed test app and all of the other apps that the company has published (which includes all the games).

IF you STILL can’t find the games, then, I don’t know, just continue facepalming?
