That was just someone with WAAAAAYYYYYYYYY too much free time on their hands. IF Apple was to come out with a new PDA device, it would be using a more updated OS then newton (like OSX PDA). They would probably add a FireWire port to it as well, and include a way to sync with your iPod..
Those pictures get a B for a well made fake/mockup, but a F for truth factor.
If one more person mentions the iWalk, I'm droping the bomb....

As Mac_User says... Apple has said no newtons... but would they call a PDA a newton now???
Either way, I can't see Apple pulling resources from other areas just to make a device for so few people. I would rather see additional improvements to the iPod (NO pda type features please).

These "New Newton-pics" aren't new, and they're not newtons, and I wouldn't even dignify them by calling them "pics", they're trash plain and simple! Can't we just drop all this Apple PDA crap, if Apple ever does come out with a PDA, you can't bet that it will be absolutely amazing, kill competition (and your wallet), and will be so revolutionary none of us can possibly imagine what it will look like.

i don't think these pictures purport to be a "future" newton but a prototype of a "past" newton. If you read the of the pics page, it states that the person acquired this from eBay from a person at a company that used to develop Newton apps.
This is an old Newton with Japanese characters. This is not a mock-up pretending to be a future release.

If you hate discussion of the future, inevitable PDA from Apple, then please just refrain from joining the discussion. There is no need to flame those of us who want such a product. There is no need for you to even participate in the thread.
It is childish to continually ask others to stop talking about something that interests them. Last I checked, there was no requirement to read and respond to every thread in this forum.

It's not the wish for a PDA that is getting flamed. Heck, I think I speak for us all that somewhere deep down inside each one of us, we want Apple to release a PDA. In fact we want it sooooooo badly that posts talking about rumored PDAs draw us in, then when we find out it's just a joke, we tend to become anxious and frustrated. But, you're right we do need to lay off the PDAs (Public Displays of Aggression)

I would never ask u guys to stop talking about it....but it just always seems like wishful thinking when the topic of an Apple PDA comes up...
I'm not against the idea...but I feel at times it's beating an already dead horse when looking too much into things....like images of an 8 year old PDA
