New notification tones in iOS4?

Does anyone know if we will finally be able to use different notification tones for email or for text messages than the few crappy ones we have now?
 
And the notification system is the same pile of junk. Yet they spent all that time on iAds. Not acting like a very consumer-centric company.
 
There needs to be more options, or a way to customize those tones. iPhones are very popular, and when in a crowded room it's funny to see a lot of people reach for their phone when someone gets a text.
 
Sometimes when I'm done burning a CD I hear iTunes make that sound and I think I'm getting a text haha
 
This is the most maddening part of Apple, in my opinion. It's just arrogant, ignorant, and very telling of how Apple feels about it's customer base. 4 years with the same crappy tones can only be one thing: A Pavlovian marketing ploy.

People often jailbreak for simple customization like this. If Apple wants to stop people from jail breaking, take off the handcuffs... or at the very least, loosen 'em up a little.

Yep, this is a feature that nearly every phone in the last 10 years has had!

I got the same thing when I tried to submit mine. I guess they are too busy to take any feedback LOL. Try again later though! This is a legit gripe!

One of the things I'll miss the most until the jailbreak for iPhone 4 is hearing Sheldon Cooper say "Bazinga!" when I get a new text message.
 
While it would be nice to have at least a few choices for alert tones, it does at least stem the tide of idiots who have a 20-second clip of some stupid rap song or death metal song play EVERY TIME they get a text message. It seems that the only people that do this are the ones that get 40 texts a minute, by the way.

Maybe it's just Apple's way of trying to solve the noise pollution problem.
