New/Old computer for me?

Looks ike I'm gonna have a little money left over after my PS3 so I might pick up an iMac G4. I need something to replace that awful PC desktop of mine. I still love my MBP though. I just need a desktop to come home and do schoolwork on rather than pulling out my laptop all the time.

Why not spend the money on an external monitor+keyboard+mouse for your MBP. You'll be disappointed with the G4s performance if a MBP is next to you.

So many people have told me this but I just need a desktop lol I need something to come and sit down too. I don't know why. I think it is something to do with the open space. Sounds weird but I like it. And I use G4's at school and love them. the are eMacs and I dont I like the performance, it isn't bad.

The G4 iMacs are one of the coolest looking machines by far. That being said, I use my macbook with an external 22" apple cinema display and apple bluetooth keyboard and a logitech mouse and I use it as a desktop 80% of the time. It works great and I never have to worry about what is on which computer. I definitely recommend it, but if you want a desktop, G4s are great if only for the cool factor 😉

Why not just get a mini or a low end 17" imac? They will give you better performance than a g4.

I would suggest you just get an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. You could even get something like this: http://www.bookendzdocks.com/Docking_Stations-Docking_Station_for_15_MacBook_Pro_Firewire_800.html It will make it feel alot like a desktop. If you wanted you would not even need to use the internal display.
