I was lucky enough to receive a silver OM-D EM-5 yesterday.
From what I've been reading on dpreview, Olympus has started shipping these out early but they also are only shipping them out in limited quantities. I had reserved a black one from my local camera shop but a silver one came in. In comparing the two, I thought the silver looked sharp so I was happy to pick it up.
I'm not sure how true this may be, but the manager at Hunts Photo and Video (my camera shop here in Boston) mentioned that Olympus made a limited run of the OMD's so availability may be an issue. tbh, I kind of doubt this, I think Oly is betting the farm on the success camera. Either way one concern I had was that we could have a repeat of the NEX-7 availability so when I had the chance to buy one I jumped at it.
I've not had too much time to play with it, but so far, it feels solid. Its smaller then I expected - in a good way. The grip is smaller then I would have preferred. When using the Panasonic 20mm that I also picked up, the grip is not an issue. The rather large 12-50mm kit lens on the other hand would have benefited from a larger grip. I'll probably look for a more compact lens to use instead of the 12-50 but first I'll put that through its paces.
