Has there been a laptop not capable of that in the last 5 years? I've had 6 and that part is normal, especially with SSD..

My Sony Pro 13 SSD ultrabook for one. It would boot up quickly but take forever to reconnect to wi-fi.

I am using the Retina MacBook to run Windows 8.1, not OSX. As a piece of hardware its a huge leap forward for Windows users.

Give it another week or two and I'm sure your opinion will change, and your experience will improve. If you still have your 2011 MBA, try not using it for a week or two straight and then go back to it from the rMB. It will blow your mind how odd and old-school it feels.

Lol that's a good idea. Looking at the silver bezel in itself is gross. If I switch it'd be to a MacBook pro retina.
