New pairing = new watch

Just noticed that each time you re-pair your watch to your phone (and restore from a backup) Apple Health lists it as a new watch.

Consequently I now have the same watch listed about 5 times in the health app.

Is this a bug? It's only happened since iOS 10.

I also Paired a 2nd Watch and had to setup Activity again losing all my data.

This was from a back up from my other watch

In order to save your activity data you must ensure that your iphone backup is encrypted in iTunes.

You can delete the old ones. Tap on them and scroll down. Select delete all data. Restart the app.

Yea but I don't want to delete all the data I worked bloody hard to archive 😉

I had this same issue. Lost all my activity ring data for a year.
