BTW I just booted Windows and got an abnormal hang at the "welcome" screen followed by an error saying something about Parallels and "could not complete". Nothing appears to be broken, although the iTunes link in my Start Menu favorites was broken, probably just a random Windows error though.

mine goes to run the bootcamp partition and then it launches in verbose black and ask me if i want to boot the windowsXP or parallels configuration... I select parallels configuration hit enter and I get a blue screen with text telling me there is an error and it loops and reboots.

ugh.

The good news is my friggin virtual machine that i created on the OS X side is working again. Thank god. that last beta screwed my whole deal.

I can't get this going on my mac, it says to enter the activation key which I do but then says it cannot be used for this version of the parallels desktop. I have a valid copy that I bought with the box from Apple and it works fine on the stable 1970 build.

According to the parallels website my activation key should be fine. Has anyone any ideas as I am dying to try this out now I have retired my PC.

I got it working (though I don't have anything with Bootcamp) and it works GREAT. I LOVE how it shows the icons for your currently running apps and you can keep them in the dock if you want! That is so cool! :) It's nice to see a company introducing so many new features :). Any of you other guys who are having problems should report them in the parallels forum (forum.parallels.com) so that way they can repair them for the final release.

Can you convert partition to Boot Camp?

I'm a current Parallels user and am interested in getting the beta 2 version. My question, I like how it works with a Boot Camp partition.I don't play a lot of games but like Flight Simulator X which requires heavy graphics and won't run under Parallels. I wish it would work in the new Beta 2 but I know graphics haven't fully been handled yet but if I'm right being it works with a Boot Camp partition I can easily use Parallels when desired and Boot Camp when needed using the same partition. Is that true?
As well, since I already have a parallels 'virtual windows drive' how do I convert to using a Boot camp partition? Do I have to fully reinstall Windows on a boot camp partition or can I somehow convert this virtual drive to a boot camp drive?

did you boot natively into bootcamp and uninstall the boot camp parallels tools 1st? that selection screen was for the 1st beta, but in this 2nd beta (after your remove those tools) it is done automatically

I did all that and mine doesn't work either.... Annoying..

I am not sure what Paralells did after a reboot of MacOSX but since then my Mac is totally screw. Each time I try to restart MacOSX I am getting a black-white screen saying I need to restart.

Even if I try to run the mac in firewire mode the other mac is getting the same error. Parallels beta is really buggy crap! Time to go back to VMWare Fusion which works normally.

Sounds like this last Beta of Parallels is extremely buggy. VMWare's latest Beta is running pretty well for me and is pretty fast with only one processor and 512MB RAM configured for it. I am using a MP, but others have reported that the latest VMWare Beta is slow on their MB and MBP's.

I'm thinking of trying out this latest Parallels Beta as the coherence mode looks cool and definitely helping things move more seamlessly between Native OS and Virtual OS.

The 'Unable to boot from disk image 'Boot Camp!' has been figured out. If your using a Volume License Key (VLK), does not matter if it's legit or not, Parallels won't boot into it. This was not an issue with Beta 1 3036.

At least, this was my prob.

IMHO coherence feature is really great! Most of all i like drag&drop support - it rocks!:)Parallels do upgrade their product, they work over the drawbacks! Now they made usb 2.0 available at last and boot camp support.
