What's this "yellowing" you all are talking about? Is it very noticeable? Or just a minor problem?
There is a difference between a color shift that happens from looking at the screen at an odd angle and the bottom 1/3rd yellow issue.
I think the latter is best seen by using that picture some guy in this forum whipped up where there are two white bars on top and bottom. I had a SR MBP where the yellow was so subtle that you couldn't see it unless you ran the test. However, once I did it bothered me, mentally, so much that I had to return it.
I think that if you have a serious case of yellow-and you're into color and light - you'll notice it immediately. Whites become yellowish-brown, whereas at the top of the screen they are crisp and white. This is localized and limited to the bottom of the display. The test is only meaningful as a confirmation of what you already suspect. If you haven't noticed anything weird with your display, please don't use the testbecause it may expose something you weren't bothered by and cause all sorts of problems for your sanity!
Do you think that these new batches of 15" MBP's have that problem fixed?
And there's another option too for all pro models now:
Mark this box if you wish to receive an LCD with 1/3 yellow tint and 2/3 without. This benefits those who are very tall and who therefore do not like to work in the lower portions of the screen. It is also suitable for children who aspire to be graphic designers when they grow up, as the white balance in the lower 1/3 where their eyes are focused is very warm and provides more accurate color rendition.
Seriously, I'm curious about the yellowing too - has Apple finally addressed it?
I reserve the right to be wrong, but IMO the "Yellow screen" issue was nothing more than typical angle viewing differences.
For those that "confirmed" their "problem" by using the image to compare the color of a box at the top and bottom of your screen I simply have one question for you.
Are the red squares different color on the top vs the bottom of this image?

No, they're probably not, but they do look different because of the background against which they're displayed. But the yellowing of the display is a different issue. it's definitely NOT a viewing angle issue since it occurs when you look straight on without any angle at all. Also, it's not about the test, but about how colors are display differently at different parts of the screen when viewed straight on. The lower part will have a yellow cast which means that any given color will look quite different depending on where on the display you put it. Not exactly great for even the most basic photo work. This is not just an illusion. There is a problem that does not fall within what is considered normal for laptop LCDs.
How about this one, it's a little more appropriate actually. The center dots are all the same shade of gray. Would you say the one on the right looks different than the one on the left? It certainly SEEMS that way.

The point I'm making is that SO many people were convinced that they had the problem by looking at that image and I know that at least some were falling prey to an illusion. I had just bought a MBP myself and looking at that image it appeared that my screen had a problem if I looked at it from certain angles. But, at least in my case, it was nothing more than an optical illusion created by the "test" image.
I think people were seeing an illusion. Especially the people that didn't see the problem until they used the image. Again, I reserve the right to be wrong, but I don't think I am.
So,..... is Penryn MBP LED fixed? People who got their PEnryn, please share,.... cheers!
I think mine has it... what should I do. How can I be sure and Is it eneough to get it replaced?

Come on, man... just because you may not have gotten one with a bad screen, you shouldn't go around telling people it dosn't exist. Might not be as widespread this time around, but there are still some out there.

One question for you guys, even though this is a BTO laptop, they should still be obligated to replace the screen right?
