The person beside me said, when I read this post aloud, "You sound exactly like them."

Thanks.

I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse, but if definitely makes me sorry for you...I'm driving myself crazy! My current thinking is to just forget a case and go bare. Problem solved?

my PS has arrived just waiting for my i5 in black :)

can someone tell me, can I use a cheap back protector off ebay with the case or does it have to be a wet install?

thanks

A few pics of my black Air Jacket.

Note the dust collecting in the top and bottom areas - but also remember that these macro close-ups tend to make it all seem a lot worse than seeing it in person. I also didn't bother dusting my phone off before the pics!

After a few days of use I'm still very happy with it. One thing I noticed today though - if I squeeze the left and right sides in towards each other with firm pressure, there is some movement between the case and the phone (have to squeeze at the right angle in the right place, and also hold your tongue right). Repeated "squeezing" could perhaps result in a scratched phone, but really the pressure required is beyond that of normal use in my opinion.

Can you confirm if your case still has this movement when you squeeze the sides? I noticed this also but not until I took the case off to clean the phone and put it back on, which was last night. The little movement (very very minor) did bother me but its no there now. So maybe the case just needs a few hours to get settled after being bent a bit when putting it on. It was in a very specific spot and I know it's not there now.

Edit: Never mind it was still there but not after I put on my back screen protector. And I don't want to scare off any potential buyers of this case. The slight give should not be noticeable to most and the case is great overall.

Yes, the movement is still there. I can imagine that a back protector would alleviate this issue, but personally I'm not particularly worried, I think it will be ok.

Is that the anti-glare screen protector you have installed?

Yes, I have the SGP Ultra Optics. Two things I like about it - it has a very good balance of anti-glare vs clarity (clearest anti-glare I've seen), and it has fewer cut-outs around the earpiece vs the Power Support version, providing a cleaner, more minimal solution.

I emailed them and the sent an email with tracking for the new one. I just received the new one and it too has scratches in the same spot as the first one.

Unfortunately as I bought it through Amazon, they can handle it. Can't believe it. Looks like I'll have to stay with the scratches.

Ok cool.

I'm just going to use normal back protector off ebay not a wet one you think it'll be okay?

should work just fine. :) one thing to watch out for this case tho, it tends to gather dust very easily. Once i find myself a better case without collecting dust into it i will change it very soon. can't risk of getting the dust to scuff up the chamfered edges

I received my white Power Support Air Jacket this afternoon. And......at this point I'm very impressed. I like the color - very matchy with the iPhone white. I really like the slimness and the velvety feel of the material. Originally I thought the fall off at the the top and bottom around the chamfer edgel would bug me but I'm not minding it so much. This case really reminds me of a cheap case I had for my iPhone 4S. It was made by Sonic and was a great case. The only issue I had with it was that the white soft material would wear down and peel off at the corners. I think someone else in this thread mentioned the same type of thing happening with their black PS case. Has anyone else experienced the soft material peeling off? My other concern is that if the material doesn't peel, I hope it doesn't yellow as other TPU cases have done.

I just want the case to stay as is and I'll be a happy camper. I'll post some photos in a bit.

If you have any queries, just reply to my post and I will reply to you as soon as I can but please note that due to our time difference, I will most likely be only replying to you when most of you guys are asleep. Cheers!

How snug is the lightning to 30-pin adapter fit there? Some posters were saying it can't be pushed in deep enough for a connection to work, but it seems like it's working in your case?

Hoping to receive mine tomorrow so I'll try post some pics if no one beats me too it.

Finally recieved my smoke air jacket for the black iPhone 5 so thought I would give my thoughts for what they are worth:

Pros:

- Great designed/engineered case and I love the protection it gives to all sides.

- Very thin for a case of this type (while obviously not as thin/light as something like a desmay).

- Smoke air jacket initially looks great on black iPhone 5 (see cons).

- Supplied screen protectors are excellent quality.

- After 2 full days of use I'm not seeing any issues at all with dust collecting at top or bottom so far but then I am careful with the phone and its only used at home and in office environment.

Cons (only one so far!):

- I'm finding the back (and sides) of the case to be complete fingerprint magnets and every single touch is showing up so feel like i am forever cleaning/wiping it. So now my screen is anti-fingerprint but the rest of my phone isnt! :(

The above is annoying me enough that I am now considering buying the black air jacket (as I love everything else about the case) and selling the smoke to a friend of mine who isnt as bothered about the whole fingerprint thing.

Hope this helps a little for anyone currently deciding between the black and smoke versions.

p.s. havent had chance to take pics yet but to be honest my digital camera is pretty naff and the photos of the smoke case another user already posted on page 14 of this thread are probably as good as any anyway.

Hi mate. I got this case too but still waiting for my phone.

Can I get away without using a back protector with this case or would you suggest using one?

If so will a normal self-ahering one do or will I need a wet apply one?

Thanks :)

I've no back protector on mine and after a few days use I haven't really seen a need to have one yet. But I can see no harm in having one on I suppose if you feel the need. Personally I'd see the only worry being taking the case on and off which would only really impact the sides rather than the back.

If you look carefully, what I am implying in the photo is that the 30 pins adaptor doesn't work with the case because the phone is not charging.

I've been using the case for the past couple of days and it's just like the previous generation PowerSupport cases: subtle design with right tolerances. My only complaints so far are the recessed sleep/wake button and the headphone jack cut-out. The cut-out actually leaves the case with 2 pointed corners that snag on clothing and even a little bit of skin. I'd didn't consider it to be a big deal when I saw the photos because I was excited about the compatibility with my noise-canceling headphones. But now it might be enough for me to consider going to the Spigen or Incipio thin cases that leave the top & bottom open (less protected).
Anybody else bugged by the sharp corners caused by the headphone jack cut-out?

I agree with the headphone cut-out. I don't like it either. I ditched the case and now use a Spigen Ultra Thin Air - Soft Clear. I like it a lot more especially the soft clear finish vs the clear finish of the Air Jacket. The dust that collects in the clear one was bothering me since I could see it and I like the grip and feel of the soft clear better. I also prefer to have the top and bottom edge open. This way I can wipe the dust off the screen and away from phone and it doesn't just get caught and trapped in the edge of the case where again, I see it collecting and I can't get it out unless I remove the case.

It may only be an issue with the clear glossy versions of the case and not the solid rubber ones. Either that or some Air Jackets have sharper points than others (QC issue?) because mine isn't sharp at all and hasn't snagged onto my clothing a single time.

My only issue with the headphone cut-out is that it leaves 2mm of chamfer exposed, but the upside is that most headphones will fit this design.
