Is an older G3 worth it if it's free
Well, let me put it to you this way, if it says MAC on it -- OF COURSE!
I've been using a MAC since MAC PLUS days and that, my friend goes way back to 1990 --9" B/W screen It had 1MB RAM in it and all you use was a 1.4 MB floppy on it If I recall, it was even using an OS prior to OS7.
The G3 350MHz - even though it has an OS 8 in it -- will run perfectly with OS 10.3.9
You'd be hard pressed to run the new LEOPARD on it.
Until recently, i was running a G3 700MHz --OS.10.3.9
If you want to LEARN your way around the MACINTOSH world -- for free is a major bonus.
I know for a fact that I saw one on a MAC retailer's website just today and he was asking $150\
GO FOR IT!

Its possibly not free but there's a high chance of it being free. My school has a buttload of them in new condition, perfectly clean on the outside and inside.
It's a 300mhz G3 with 64mb RAM and a 6GB drive, and an ATI Rage 128.... Could I get Tiger onto this and make it fairly usable(add RAM/HDD/etc) just for the hell of it, or is it not worth it?
It currently is running OS 8, heh
