I have 5 phones on AT&T as a Family Plan. That is the limit to the number of phones that AT&T will allow. Now will I be able to get the iPad with 3G and add it to my family plan or is it just a stand alone $30.00 plan?

Don't confuse "family plan" and "account". A family plan exists within an account, and a single account can mix multiple family plans, family plans + individual lines, etc.

Being that the iPad's plan is going to be data only, it wouldn't be able to go into a family plan anyway, it would just be added as an additional line on your account.
