I’ve had my 12.9 Pro since launch in 2015, and it’s finally starting to show its age. I am going to replace it with the new 12.9 next week, but just wanted to ask, people aren’t expecting a new 12.9 Pro at the next Apple meeting correct? I thought I read the current Pro is the new version for 2020.

Appreciate any insight.

They might announce it at the next Apple event, but not release it until 2021.

Definitely wait til the event - if nothing else we might have more of an idea of any direction they’re taking with it all.

Mac Pro yes. Air power doesn’t exist yet. What etc? Have they ever preannounced an ios device?

Air Power no longer exists in its presented form.

In terms of pre-announcing iOS devices, they used to, but not any more. They've obviously done it with accessories.

Idon’t remember a case of them ever preannouncing an iOS device.
They may have - you could be right.
They certainly have not anywhere nearly recently.
But anyway, that is why I said ‘pretty much’.

Apple usually doesn’t like announcing what isn’t ready yet. They did for the Mac Pro probably to not lose face as the can design was largely despised and the successor took a while to its release. AirPower is not a product yet. And I have some doubts it ever will.

They showed the phone and the watch early probably to create momentum for marketing and to avoid customers seeing those as leaks from third parties.

No, I'm talking about an event later in the year.
I thin

I think they mean how they’ve announced iPad pros a couple months before it actually came (which they did for the 2015 iPad Pro.)
🤷‍♂️
