This is gonna be a silent, bogus, ride-out-until-Intel update they could've done LAST October '04. I love the way Apple cons us like suckers. We ride out 18 months for a "significant" update, get played psychological games on, and fall for the anticipation of "updates soon." We are suckers.
So would you want to be like a Sony where they update their laptops 3times in 6months? That would tick me off so badly!
Yeah they are focussing on two main things at the moment - switching their CPU to a completely different processor company... and with all the headaches that go with it... it's not a flick of a switch transition.
And secondly they are focussing on making Apple into a hugely successfull company. Much as we would like to admit that Apple is in this game to make computers the way we would want to use them... they are also in this to make as much money as possible... so therefore they are focussing on the iPod and the holy grail switcher halo effect.
My point here is... I remember last year they updated the laptops quite constantly... but due to the fact that they have been limited on the processor capabilites they couldn't release anything significant...
They have to have a compromise. and making us comsumer (pro mainly) wait. And therefore I am happy to wait!
