Told ya :D now i think u should get a normal SSD don't get those hybrids. If you're worried about memory then u should do what everyone else is doing, HDD in optibay and buy a case for the DVD since i doubt u'll be needing it most of the time

Too late, already ordered the hybrid. I really couldn't afford a decent sized SSD, and didn't want to do the surgery to replace the DVD drive. Thanks for the advice though.

Ok, so I installed the Seagate Momentus XT hybrid HDD about 24 hours ago, and so far so good. It seems to be working great. I am not hearing any decipherable noise increase, or stalling or lagging. (which was reported on some of the reviews I read) It has cut my boot up time by at least 40% and I am also noticing much faster launching of certain apps. (after launching them a few times) Safari, Apple Mail, Firefox and Photoshop open nearly instantly, probably due to the adaptive learning and the SSD. (very noticeable difference from before) The entire system is moving a little faster, and I credit that to the 7200 RPM drive.

SO far I am happy with this drive, and will report back if anything changes.
