PowerMike G5, I noticed your G5 Quad has the Nvidia 7800GT Card (is this right?). I assume you got it through Apple as a BTO.

My order of the PM 2.0 GHz was delayed from 3-4 days to 6-8 weeks after changing the card to the 7800. So I won't be getting mine till end of Dec as a result of the video card upgrade.

Am I the only one whose order is delayed as a result of the video card upgrade?

Actually, I got mines from the Apple store. I bugged them the day the Quads were announced about holding the very first one they get in for me. Sure enough, a couple days ago, they recieved their first Quad (and only one for the next couple weeks according to the manager) and I snatched it up. So it was the stock configuration.

I had all the other upgrade components ready, but the only thing I still need to upgrade is the graphics card. I'm waiting for the kit of either the nvidia 7800 GT (or hopefully the GTX 512MB ) or any high-end offering from ATI. I'm almost tempted to get that Quadro card ...

Indeed, I work professionally in Film and tv broadcasting, so the machine is an investment of course. But even if I didn't work in this industry, I'd still proabably would've bought this setup, cause I'm an Apple whore

And yes, I did sell my Dual 2.5 setup before I bought this machine.

doesn't mean I go out and buy them right away. I have too many computers as it is so I don't have the room for one. Most of my computers are old one's from my dad's work (3 7100's, 840av, 7600, Beige G3, PC, iMac G3)
