refurbs come in brown boxes.

Not always. Beginning January I bought 2 Mac Pros from the Apple Refurb store.
One came in a brand new Mac Pro carton;
the other in a brand new PowerMac G5 carton.
Didn't notice it until packing them away.

Both cartons I could swear had never even been opened — although to get the Mac Pro into the G5 carton I guess they must have. :p Foam padding and inserts all immaculate.

Both had a label stuck on: :apple: CERTIFIED RECONDITIONED

This is in the UK though. So I guess YMMV. ;)
 
haha i noticed that too

i dont even know why i still check that damn refurb site, i just got my macbook from there a few days ago

i guess its just fun to watch how fast they disappear and try to find any other ridiculously good deals that might come along haha. i need to stop checking it

Haha, I check too. Maybe to see if there's any price drops but I doubt it..:(
