Is anyone here having problems with the new remote included on the 4K ATV? Mine seems non-responsive at times (I checked to see if it was my TV doing some sort of processing that would introduce a delay - it isn't), with button presses and swipes going unnoticed and voice commands seemingly not even being picked up.

I hooked up my old ATV and old remote and have no issues. Haven't paired old remote to new ATV yet, though.

I did upon initial setup. I repaired the remote and it seems to be working a bit better. It was hanging a lot in the beginning.

Yes! Mine has had a bunch or response issues. Sometimes it works, but usually begins to flake out over time. I've tried repairing, restoring the ATV, moving the unit to different locations, checking that it was fully powered, shutting off other bluetooth devices, etc. Nothing seems to bring the remote to work correctly like my old 4th gen Apple TV. I'm beginning to think it is the remote itself, as I've tried connecting an older Harmony remote and everything runs smoothly. I need to try pairing the old 4th gen remote to the 4k and see what happens.

If I change my video to 1080p all my remote issues go away. 4K makes the remote connection flakey. I’m not sure if I hv a faulty hardware.

Today I swapped out the 2.0 HDMI cable I was using with a brand new one and that seemed to fix my issue.

This happened to me for a few days and I was so annoyed. As soon as I switched to a better HDMI cable, it was fixed.

I have noticed this also. If it's my HDMI cable, I may have a problem. I bought a new house which had an HDMI routed through the wall and behind a fireplace. I am worried I'll never be able to change that thing haha.

I confirm this also - after heavy usage of the remote with the AppleTV 4k the remote input seems to get laggy and buffered. sometimes even entering text can be annoying.

This could be reproduced e.g. when playing a game with heavy trackpad usage.

I glad to read this here - thought it is only my remote. thanks guys.

Someone reported that this might be connected to the HDMI cable - I´m really wondering and don´t think that this is the reason. If yes: shielding?

hm

Please give us update. It feels like a tvOS 11 issue or driver issue of the remote

update: my remote / UI seems not to be laggy at all now. maybe some background tasks took more performance (e.g. image iclould library syncing) and I tested a cheap cable (and dind´t play much around the 4k settings)

so you guys? does it work more stable after some time and reboot?

I am also seeing this issue on my new 4K apple TV. The remote becomes super laggy and taps on the remote have delay. I purchaed a high quality 4K compatible HDMI cable and still no sucess. I believe its TVos11 causing this annnoying issue.

Just tie the end of the new HDMI to the old and pull it thru the wall. I have this same issue.

I'm seeing this on my non-4k Apple TV as well. Since my set up hasn't changed, it must be tvOS 11. Buggy as hell

Yes, there is a slight delay in the remote on the regular ATV4 as I've experienced it.

Yea I have tried tugging on it a bit and it seems like it's stuck on something back there. Just a little nervous to not get it through and then we stuck with no HDMI connection. We'll see.

I also still notice the lag sometimes. This is strange :(

It is not all the time, but after some usage the trackpad of the remote and the action buttons get laggy.

I have it too! Also the battery on my remote seem to drain a lot faster than it should be doing?

I have had this issue since day one.

I also tested my ATV4 remote on my 4K and it is also laggy, however my 4K remote on my ATV4 is fine so it's definitely the 4K ATV that is the issue.

Have a feeling it has something to do with frame rate or resolution changes. Apple TV remote app from phone or iPad works fine.
