I bought 4K 64GB and I can't play my favorites game (Crossy Road) on this, the remote is so laggy. Sometimes when I click on remote up to two seconds pass before response, sometime no response at all.

Nothing to report on mine. It's either interference, a cable, or low fps on the tv that's causing the problems.

hmmm... I don't know about that.

My Siri remote lags constantly. Worked great the first day and that was it.

My Steelseries controller has never had a lag issue.

So how is this a cable issue?... or frame rate?

Would appear to be software.

I really hope Apple fixes this issue. It is probably the most annoying thing i have come across. Especially when now i rely on my AppleTV to watch TV using DirectTVNow service. Its rather frustrating as this occurs multiple times a day on many occasions watching tv. I think i need to file a bug report on this.

Weekly?....

....more like every 3 days with mine and its only 3 weeks old.

ouch - yeah definitely give Apple support a call to get a replacement sent to you, or visit an Apple store if there's one near you. This is definitely an issue that is affecting some of the remotes. I have friends with the new AppleTV4K and their remotes are fine, so this isn't affecting everyone. I was told that Apple's engineering already had a good sample of affected remotes and are studying them.

There were probably just batches with faulty little batteries in them

The charge on these should be lasting months....

good luck!

i see also still the laggy issues - mostly after intensive use (e.g. gaming with trackpad)

Got the empty box from Apple yesterday, sending it back today. We will see, but it sucks not having a controller, even a laggy one.

Could be up to 2 weeks for diagnosis and repair/replacement, this is not what I expected from Apple.

Owned Apple products for over 10yrs, first time I have ever needed service....

From my experience, I still see 3 options to get a workaround:
  1. Use the TV remote (needs to have a CEC connection and activated on both TV and aTV)
  2. Teach aTV the commands of any other IR remote
  3. Use the iPhone/iPad/apple Watch - that solution even gives you Siri (talk to your device)

well it looks like I'll be exchanging my remote again - I got the replacement a couple weeks ago and this new one is losing charge on a weekly basis as well.

This isn't the norm with everyone correct? The remote on my 4th gen could go 4 or 5 months easily.

Well... that's not good news.

Got my replacement yesterday with a 75% charge. So far it's not laggy but to soon
to tell how the battery is going to work.
