Yeah, yeah, yeah. In development, like the new Apple TV that was supposed to be released this year, with two separate dates mentioned. We'll see if AirTag 2 ever makes it to production…

Better range and a louder speaker will help with its main purpose which is to find lost items. I wouldn’t mind a chunkier size if it means better durability and longer life.

Maybe only a chip change. Would like to see it being offered in other colours also.

The number one thing it needs is a design change. All it needs is a little attachment point on it, like the AirPods Pro 2 have, so you can actually attach it to things without needing to buy expensive adapters.

I expect that if an AirTag was getting carried around in the real world without any sort of protective cover, we'd be seeing a lot of cases of the battery door getting bumped and falling off, along with the battery.
