I just opened my new 13" rMBP, and compared it side by side to my 1 year old MBA. The one thing that is bugging me the most is the fact that I am losing so much real estate on the screen, both vertically and horizontally. I love the retina HD screen, but I'm wondering if I made a mistake and should keep the MBA?

Is there anything I can do to fit more on my screen?

Yup that seems to work. So all the way to the right and I get even more real estate. Gotcha. I'm digging this now.

Hmmm.. Resolution may BE the Solution!!

1440x900 vs 2560x1600 ~ I think the Pixel People are just Smaller on your 'real estate'.. :D

I looked at that setting before posting, but I assumed "Scaled" would stretch my screen a bit for some odd reason. Either way, thanks for making me like this laptop! That's just about my only gripe so far. Still not sure how I feel about the heftier weight, but everything else is superb.

I have image retention on my 2011 MBP. It can't be my own eyes from staring at the grid?

You're not supposed to stare at the grid! Your retina has its own image retention :)

Nothing visible on my screen first try. Maybe I'm lucky?
