I recently had my old netgear wireless router die. I replaced it with a Belkin N 150. The the new wireless router isn't working because I can't get an internet connection. I never had the ethernet working on the imac (Mac OS X v. 10.5.8). that's why I brought the original router. My ISP is AOL high speed broadband, using a Broadxent dsl modem. I have tried multiple setting and call all parties involved. Nothing is working.
Please help
Thanks

Not sure the belkin doesn't have any indicators lights for dsl. just an amber for non connection and blue for connecting. if it flashes amber then there is a cable connection issue. but it is solid amber which is no connection to the internet

A common problem with cable modems is that they do not synch
with wireless routers. Here is a trick that works for me.

disconnect power on your

modem
and
wireless router

wait 4-5 minutes

then reconnect power to both at the same time.

Can you attach your iMac directly to the cable modem? Do you get a connection that way?

Can you set up a wifi LAN with the router and the iMac?

Or is it just that you cannot connect to the internet through both?
